This is what we are making

I have made this house in Picture It 2000, 2002 & Digital Pro. So it is possible with all versions of Picture It! The tut pictures are done with Digital Pro, the anaimation of the houses were done in 2000. You just have to know where to find the different things used to make this house.

You can download the following zips to help you make this gingerbread house.

Gingerbread House Texture download: This is just a large gingerbread texture, in PI2000 you can put it in your texture folder to use. In other versions, you can save it in a folder and use it. You can cut out your own house shapes with this texture. This texture is in gif format so any PI can use it.

Gingerbread House Cutouts download: These are the cutouts I made, you just have to upzip and put them together like a puzzle! These house parts are in gif format so any PI can use it.

Candies download: Here are a few candies I found on the net and used to decorate my house. Some of these are gif and jpg, some are cutout, some have to be cutout.

I did find while making my house, in PI2002 Photo Premium I had the problem of low memory and when this happened, it would lock up, so be careful of what you have open while putting it together and SAFE OFTEN!
In Digital Pro, I also had a memory problem and it would change the color on somethings as you see it, if you save it in png format and close the program then start it again you will find that it was saved correctly.

OK, now on with making your house. First let me say, this is only a tut for the basic house, you can add anything you want to make your house. I will help your put it together, make it look like a house, add windows, chimney, door, and snow. You do the rest!

First you need a blank area to work in that is at least 300 by 300 pixel. Bigger if you like. I have made mine black, so you can see the house better. Any color is fine!

Next you will need to either cutout your own gingerbread house parts, or open the ones I have made in your program.

In my zip, you will find 4 parts. A rectangle, a square, a house shape and a arch.
You will drag a rectangle up from the bottom. In PI2002 and PI2003 you will need to resize it down. This is the side of your house

After you get it resized, you need to drag the house looking piece up, again you will need to resize, and add it like this

This is the front of your house.
Drag another rectangle up, this one will be the roof.

To make this your roof, you will have to skew it.
