We are going to make this, to start with...
You will first open a new work area by clicking this icon at the top

You will need to resize your work area. Go to FORMAT/RESIZE IMAGE. You will see something
like this

You will need yours to look just like that.
Unclick MAINTAIN PROPORTIONS then click

Choose PXL this is your
pixels. Then click in the box above Height and type in 200, then click in the box above
Width and type in 150. You are now ready to start your jar.
You will now Insert 2 shapes for your jar. A circle and a square. Do this by going here

Your new shapes will have large black outlines

To get rid of these lines, go to

and click

You will want to fill the shapes with color, so you can see them! So go to EFFECTS/FILL WITH TEXTURE OR COLOR.

Click on the blue square and choose the lightest color
of blue here

Now arrange your square to sit on top of your
circle, change the size and shape to fit what you like, you can change this later if
you decide to.

Now you need to duplicate both the shapes, do this by hitting CTRL+d keys, since
your project is small, you will find your duplicates in the surrounding grey area, usually
below your project. Just zoom out to find them and drag them up to your work area. You should
have this on your righthand stack

You will need to click on
one of each shape and make it darker than the other layer. To do this, go to EFFECTS/FILL WITH
TEXTURE OR COLOR, click on MORE SOLID COLOR CHOICES and use the eyedropper. Click it on
the light color blue of the jar

Then drag the ball down
toward the middle of the circle for a darker color...not too dark!

Do this to both the circle and square, your stack should now have this

Make sure your darker color is on the bottom, you can drag it under on your stack by clicking on it
and holding down your mouse button, then moving it downward and letting go. Now for some shading for your jar.
To do this, you will click on the light colored circle, and go to EFFECTS/EDGES/SOFT EDGES, move
the slider over like this

You can adjust the number to the look you like. Now click on the light color square and go to
EFFECTS/TRANSPARENT FADE/GRADUAL choose this filter

It should look like this

Now you will need an even lighter highlight for your jar's circle
part. Insert another circle, getting rid of the black lining once again (or duplicate the bottom layer circle).
Make this circle smaller to fit in the middle, and you will need to fill it with a light color of blue or
maybe white.

Not you need to go to EFFECTS/TRANSPARENT FADE/GRADUAL and
choose the circle filter

And then click this

Go one step further, and go to EFFECTS/EDGES/SOFT EDGES and move the slider over so that your
circle looks like this

Now to add a bottom and top for a
more fancy look, add 2 more circles, squash them down into ovals, make them darker, about the color of your bottom layer circle.
Place one on top of the square and one at the bottom of the circle. The top one can stay
like it is. The 2nd one you will need to go to EFFECTS/EDGES/SOFT EDGES and adjust it to fade away.
You should now have your jar! You can do tons of things with it! Candy, flowers, fish...you name it! Have fun.
