You can make your own eggs, color and decorate them as you wish. This is great for Easter or any time you feel like play with eggs, they are fun and wonderful to make things with!

This lesson actually has you use 2 tools that you don't usually use, and that makes this lesson fun for me, because I just figured this out and I have been using this program for years! So here we go...

You will start with a new project and size it down to 200x300 pixels. You can make it smaller or larger, if you want, but I like this size. To size it in DIP9S you will go to FORMAT/RESIZE IMAGE and type the numbers in where it says Pixel Demitions.

Now you want to insert a circle. You will start by going to INSERT/SHAPE/CIRCLE.

Drag your circle by the size balls and make it into a oval that fits into your 200x300 area.

In DIP7 & 9 You will need to take the outline off of your shape. To do this, just right click on your shape and choose CHANGE LINE THICKNESS and choose the TOP line in the list, this will take it off.
You will need to fill your egg with color, before taking the outline off of it, so you don't loose it! Then you will need to duplicate your oval, clicking CRTL+d.

You need to make your top layer much lighter than your bottom layer. You can do this by filling with solid color and choose a color lighter that matches your color.

Now you need to go to EFFECTS/TRANSPARENCY/GRADUAL and choose this fliter

And be sure to click to flip direction

Your egg should now look alot like this

Now select your top layer and go to EFFECTS/EDGES/SOFT EDGES and set it about here

Now your egg should look like this.

And then be sure to lock your 2 layers together

Not really an egg shape, so we will use EFFECTS/DISTORTORTION BRUSH, you will actually use 2 of these brushes for your egg. First you will click on this one

Choose the biggest brush

set the brush over the bottom of your egg, with the brushes middle at the bottom of your egg and in the middle of your egg.

Click this tool 1, then 2, then 3 times, that should be good enough, unless you want a fat bottomed egg!

Click click on this brush

This time center your brushes middle at the top.

Again, click about 3 times

Now you should have a perfect shaped egg!

Here are a few things I have made with my egg!
