We are making this

I have cut down on my graphics with this tut, there are 2 other snow globe tuts, please read them first, you do the same, just have to find where they put things. In this tut, I am working from the top tool bar, which is new in Digital pro and make finding things faster. If you have any questions just email me at tacodog@tnni.net !
Ok first choose your picture. You will need to make a dupicate by clicking
on your graphic and then clicking EDIT/DUPLICATE WHOLE PICTURE. You will now
have 2 of your graphic. Close the first. And now you need to crop your
graphic, to the same you want your globe. Do this by selecting your graphic and clicking
CROP OR ROTATE from the size menu, and then choose the second choice of CROP CANVAS.
Choose the circle croping tool and resize it to the shape you want it. Mine is
going to be oval.

After you get your graphic cropped, you will now add your globe. To make a globe, you will choose to INCERT/SHAPE/CIRCLE

When you add the new circle, you will notice a black out line around it and you need to take this off.

Got to the top, and look for LINE THICKNESS button, click it and then click the bottom option MORE, and then click the first button NONE.

Once you have an all white globe, you need to make it transparent, so you can see your picture! Go to EFFECTS/TRANSPARENT FADE/GRADUAL and choose the circle.

We need to change the color of the globe. Choose EFFECTS/FILL WITH TEXTURE OR COLOR

Choose the GRADIENT color.

Click on the circle color filter

Your globe will look like this

You will click on CUSTOM 2 COLOR GRADIENT. The first color you choose you want to be the dark color for shading

The 2nd color will be a light color

Your globe should now look something like this

You can add a glare mark, by adding another circle, deleteing the outline again and making it small, squash it and lay it slightly on its side. Then use EFFECTS/TRANSPARENT FADE/EVEN to make it lighter.

You now need to lock together your globe/glare/graphic and make it smaller to add the base. To do this, on the right hand side, click the first picture, hold down the CTRL button and click the remaining pictures

you will now see a little unlocked lock on your work space, click on it and it will close

Once locked, make it smaller

You are ready to add your base. You can do what ever you want. This time, I added a shape, went to INCERT/SHAPE and chose a shape. Then resize it

I filled it with a texture by going to EFFECTS/FILL WITH TEXTURE OR COLOR, then click on the little apple picture, found my texture and click to open it. To make it more "real" I duplicated the new base by clicking CTRL+d and then I drug the new base to the bottom of the stack, so it sat behind my globe and sat it out of line, so you could see it and make it look like the globe is setting on the base. It would look like this in the stack

I then made the back base darker by going to TOUCHUP/BRIGHTNESS AND CONTRAST.
I move the top bar to the left, making it darker.
Then I decked to bevel the front base, by duplicating it, making the new
back layer dark once again, but lining them up. I then go to
EFFECTS/EDGES/SOFT EDGES and moving the bar to the right, until
I liked the look. I also decided to add some pretty stamped
decor for it. To do this go to EFFECTS/PAINT BRUSH/STAMPS. I
looked through the stamps

and decided on 2 different one, stamping them where I thought they looked nice. And I ended up with this

Now I added snowflakes. I went back to the stamps, but instead of the fancy stamps like above I click the 3rd button and chose the plain solid stamp of the snowflake.

I then click CUSTOMIZE A STAMP and choose the color white. then click to go back to my snowflake, and I use 3 different sizes for my animation.

Here is my first frame for my globe animation

You should drag the snowflake layer down in your stack so that it sits behind your globe, but ontop of your graphic. You will save it in gif format, delete the snowflake layer by right clicking on the right stack and clicking delete. Make them again, placing them around your globe again. And again drag it down, save it as gif and deleteing, until you have 3 or 4 or more frames for your flipbook animation. Once you have enough, you will animate it. Save your globe in PNG format now, incase you want to make changes or make more frames for animation. Once saved, close everything. Now open your saved gif frames. Click on each one and click OPEN

Go to the top and choose TOOLS/FLIPBOOK. Then follow the steps. If you don't understand the steps, please read the 2001 globe tut, I explain how to use it, and it is all the same here! At the end if you like your animation click save! If not, go back and make changes until you do. Here is another globe I have made in Digital Pro
