We are going to make this:

You can use the photo I am, or your own. Here is the picture just right click on it

There are 3 ways you can do this picture. It depends on how good you are at eyeing things. The easiest way is to use my template. Just open a picture and the template. Drag the template over top of the picture. You can adjust the template by streching it or duplicating it so that if you have a bigger or longer picture you can still use it! That is one way. Here is the template, just right click and save as

Follow the details depicted later.

With DIPs you can use the selection tool. I can do this pretty well and you don't have to be perfect anyways! But you click on your shape selection tool

Make a square on the picture, about where you want it.

Then click "adjust marquee"

Now you can adjust the shape of your selection to a long rectangle.

When you like the shape, click done

Then in your selection window, be sure to click the "+" button

and now you can keep making selections all the way across the picture.

If you do it this way, then you just have to click CTRL+d to duplicate the selections and follow the directions below about adding shapdow!

Finally the 3rd way is to insert a square shape.

Take the border off of it

Then shape it the way you want

Now just click CTRL+d and duplicate your shape for each one you want to add to the picture.

Now you need to click one of the rectangles to select it, and then press and hold down the CTRL button and click the others, once the lock appears, click it and lock them all together.

Once locked, you want to fill it with black, just so it is easier to see. And then click on the magic wand and click on the black to select it. Make sure when using the wand that you unclick the continious box so it selects all of them.

When you have all of the black slats selected and without touching anything. You want to go to your stack and click on the bottom horse picture.

Again don't touch anything and on your keyboard click CTRL+d, this will actually duplicate the slats, but with the horse picture on them.

Now in your stack, right click on your black slats and delete them.

Now you are going to add 2 shadows, to make your slats stand out! First you want to click on the slats. Then go to your shadow tool.

Click this shadow

Click this

Fill it with white.

Move the transparency lever to 0

Now go to the shadow and move it around on your picture. If you zoom in you may get it better. You need it to sit on top of your slat. But not very thick, just a tiny line. Once you have this

Click done and go out of this tool, then go right back in. Click this shadow

This time turn this shadow black. Then again turn off the transparency. And adjust the shadow to sit under the slats.

Now use the edge softness tool, to make the black look more like a shadow.

And that is it! Although you can add filters to the bottom layers to really make the picture stand out!
