Next we will do a more advanced edge, but more like you are gonna want to do. With the more detailed edges, it can get tricky, sometimes they don't come out as good as you think they are going to, so just try different ones. Download this diamond frame. You will need to open it along with the basic blue again.
You need to cut out the black diamond design from the white part of this frame. Select the diamond frame and go to the top, click FORMAT/CREATE A CUTOUT/COLOR BY SELECTION.

Click on the black diamond design with the eyedropper, it should turn pink.

Choose In Seperate Project again and done.

You now will select your basic blue, and from the bottom of your screen, drag up your black diamond cutout. When you do this, it will be very very large.

So make your project tiny, and then choose a corner and resize it down to fit on to your basic blue file. Once you have done this, you will resize it to fit inside your basic blue.

To make sure you have it lined well, you can zoom in and see where your black diamond is.

Once you have this done, you need to lock them together. Click on basic blue, then press and hold CTRL and click on the diamond cutout at the right of your screen, then lock the lock at the bottom of your picture.

You now will cutout the black diamond design once again, from the basic blue. Go back up to FORMAT/CREATE A CUTOUT/COLOR BY SELECTION.

Click on the diamond design, and cut this part out of your basic blue. This is your new edge. Again save and try it out.

Here is my new edge in use...

PICTURE IT 2000

In PI2000 to make an edge is alot like the above, but you would do the following...
First open the mix verison of the basic blue file from above. Then you will open the diamond frame graphic.
Select the diamond frame and go to CUTOUTS & PICTURES/CUTOUT OF PICTURE/BY COLOR SELECTION.
Click the black area, it will turn pink.
Click next
Then click Done.
Select your basic blue at the bottom by double clicking on it.
Drag the new diamond cutout up from the bottom to the basic blue.
Lock them together.
Go back to CUTOUTS & PICTURES/CUTOUT OF PICTURE/BY COLOR SELECTION.
Click on the black diamond design with the eye dropper.
It should turn pink.
Click next now you must click "SELECT OPPOSITE AREA" and then done.
Now save as MIX format and put in your Designer folder and try it out.

PICTURE IT 2001

In PI2001, use the MIX format of the basic blue and the diamond frame. Open your program, go to SHOW MY PICTURES & PROJECTS/MY DOCUMENTS and open these 2 files.
Select the diamond design, and click CUTOUTS & PICTURES/CREATE A CUTOUT/BY COLOR SELECTION.
Click on the the black diamond part, if you can't see it well or the wrong area turns pink, you can zoom in on it and change the "color range slider" to 0. Then click in the black part of the design, and it will turn pink. Click next and done.
Change to your basic blue and drag the black diamond design cutout on to it. Resize your black cutout on top of your basic blue to fit around the inside of it. Again, if you zoom, you can really line this up.
Once you have them lined up right, you want to lock them together. You can do this by clicking on your basic blue, then click and hold your CTRL and click the black cutout, then lock the little lock (see picture above of lock).
Now, go back to CUTOUTS & PICTURES/CREATE A CUTOUT/BY COLOR SELECTION. Again click on the black diamond part. It may help to click the statment "ALL SIMILAR AREAS" to get all the black area in the cutout. When you have it all selected, then click next. Here you HAVE to click the statment "SELECT OPPOSITE AREA". Now click Done. Save it in MIX format and place it in your designer edges file.

PICTURE IT 2002

With PI2002, you will need to open the PNG format Basic Blue file and the diamond frame. When you open your program, go to OPEN & EDIT/MY COMPUTER. Open both of these files.
Select the Diamond frame and to cut it out you will go to CROP OR TRIM/CREATE A CUTOUT/BY COLOR SELECTION.
Click the black design part, you may need to click "ALL SIMILAR AREAS" to get all the black area, it will turn pink. Then click next and done.
Select the basic blue from the bottom of your work area by double clicking on it. Now drag the black diamond cutout on to your basic blue. It will be quite large, so you need to make it fit your basic blue area. Once you have them lined up, you want to lock them together. You can do this by clicking on the basic blue and then press and hold the CTRL button and click the black diamond cutout to the right. Then click the little lock (see photo above).
You will now go to ADD SOMETHING/PICTURE,CUTOUT,OR CLIP/CREATE A CUTOUT/BY COLOR SELECTION. And again click the black area, remember to click "ALL SIMILAR AREAS" if you need to. I did find that this program, can be a little more harder to get the locked together items to make a cutout. If you can't get yours to select the black area at all, then what you can do is click CANCEL, then unlock the 2 items. Now you will stretch your basic blue outside the work area, so that it is maybe 1/4 inch larger that it was. The you will need to go to Then click next and you will have to choose ADD SOMETHING/PICTURE,CUTOUT,OR CLIP/CREATE A CUTOUT/WITH COOKIE CUTTER SHAPE and place it around the basic blue, so that you are cropping off the part your just made, but when it crops your edge, what happens is that they are now ONE item and not locked, so then you can go back and now go to ADD SOMETHING/PICTURE,CUTOUT,OR CLIP/CREATE A CUTOUT/BY COLOR SELECTION and select the black area, it should work well now. Click next and now you MUST click "SELECT OPPOSITE AREA" and done. Now save it in PNG format and place in your designer folder.
