Making a Frame
Start with a "blank" square/rectangle, large size works better, you can resize later. When I say blank, I mean just a plain color square or rectangle, you can start with a "new project" and do this! You can open any picture your have, and just "fill with color/gradient/texture" and make this frame. But for this tut, I just chose a single color, so it would be easier to understand! This is great for round, oval or other odd shaped frames. And square too!
Go to CUTOUTS & PICTURES/CUT OUT OF PICTURE
Choose COOKIE CUTTER shape options
Choose a shape and cut it out.
Go back to CUTOUTS & PICTURES, but go to TRIM COUTOUT/CUT A HOLE this time
Choose COOKIE CUTTER again
Match the shape with the first one you cutout, but make is smaller to fit inside of the first cutout, you are going to cut out the inside of the first shape.
You will now have a "frame/ring". With this frame, you will copy and paste another one. You will find when you copy and paste, it will paste a smaller version of the frame, resize it to match the first.
Select the bottom frame and change it to a very dark/black color.
Now select the top layer and go to EDGE EFFECTS/SOFT EDGES
Adjust the top layer-until you see a "shading" effect you like on the indside and outside of your frame.
You can now adjust the color of the top and bottom layer, so that it looks like it is beveled into a frame.
You now have a frame! You can save this as a mix (PI format) and use it later for a frame for graphics or photos. You can change it by trying out different filters in SEPCEAL EFFECTS/ILLUSIONS or changing the color to suit the photo. The ideas are endless! I am STILL having fun playing with this new found project! Play around with it and have fun!!

All of these small frames were made doing this tut!
