This is a lesson on how to make a sparkle. It is possible to do this in ALL versions of Picture It! and Digital Image Pro. Start with a 100x100 pixel dark colored box, just so you can see the sparkle as you make it.

Add text,

you need a line, either a small (L)or a capital (i) just as long it is just a line, not top or bottom, default font will form a line for either of these letters. You can make your letter any color, but I will just use white for this one. Here is the only difference in old and new versions of this program. In PI2003, DIP7 & DIP9 you will need to duplicate your letter and lock both together

Because of the way the text works, you have to do this to be able to adjust the letters for the following sparkle. PI2001 and PI2000 do NOT have to do this!

Once you have your letter, now you will duplicate by going to EDIT/DUPLICATE or CTRL+d while the letter is selected. When you have duplicated your letter, you will grag the top position ball and drag it to lay side ways over the first one

Now you will do this 2 more times so that you have 2 more letters and again move them to go criss cross over the first 2

Now add a circle shape. I filled mine with yellow...again, you can choose any color.

You will go to TRANSPARENTCY/GRADUAL** and choose this filter

You will see this

To the right you will need to click

And your sparkle will now look like this

Now go to DISTORT** and choose this filter

And you will see this

Now you will go to EDGES/SOFT** and apply it to about this

And you will see this

If you adjust the middle a little, until you like it, you now have a sparkle

To open your program to make a sparkle, you need to go to SHOW MY PICTURES AND PROJECTS/MY DOCUMENTS Open a graphic and then resize to 100x100 pixel and fill with dark color.
